<![CDATA[Lily Jones Selected for U19 England Trials]]>Sun, 08 Nov 2020 08:00:00 GMThttp://jerseynetball.com/performance-programme-news/lily-jones-selected-for-u19-england-trialsFour rising Team Bath Netball stars have been selected to trial for the England Roses U19 Squad for the 2020/2021 season, including our very own Lily Jones.

Shooter Lily Jones is currently at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire who made her way through our JNA performance pathway being selected at U11s upwards, moved to the UK to access the Team Bath pathway. While still qualifying for U17s, she played a key role in Team Bath’s U19 squad last season.

Natalie Roddy, Team Bath Netball’s Academy Head Coach, said: “We wish our athletes every success as they take on the challenge of screening in November. They are all very talented players with great potential for the future...Lily is a talented shooter who demonstrates a defensive tenacity that has a real impact on the game."

<![CDATA[Bella Valeur-Adu and Hope Jordan move to the UK to be closer to Team Bath]]>Tue, 14 Apr 2020 07:00:00 GMThttp://jerseynetball.com/performance-programme-news/bella-valeur-adu-and-hope-jordan-move-to-the-uk-to-be-closer-to-team-bathThe JNA wishes Bella Valeur-Adu (16) and Hope Jordan (13) best wishes as they chase their netball dreams as they begin new lives in the West Country in September. They are both emulating England international Serena Guthrie MBE who made the same move at the age of 14 to be closer to all the training that is offered by Team Bath.

Following Team Bath trials last summer, Valeur-Adu was selected as part of a training group of over 100 players, which was then whittled down to a match squad that also featured her name. Since then, she has travelled up to twice a month for under-17 fixtures but is now hopeful that a move to Millfield School will reap further rewards, as it acts as one of Bath’s satellite hubs for junior netball.

Jordan, meanwhile, has been offered a sports scholarship at Monkton Combe School and is also the sole-recipient of the Ama Agbeze Award for 2020 – providing specialist input from the former England captain.

Fellow Islanders Anya Le Monner and Lily Jones have also left Jersey in recent years to further their chances of reaching the netballing summit with Bath, while Ella Warner who is at Marlborough College is currently a member of the club’s U16 set-up.]]>
