Convent A 85 (POM Sophie Holmes GA) v St Clement A 46 (POM Zoe Hotton GS)
The opening quarter of this match looked as if it could go either way with only 3 goals separating these two top flight teams at the first break 16-13, Convent having the slight edge. It was the defending champions who took control of the play, forging ahead to a comfortable lead of 41-21 at half time. The strength in both of these teams was in their attack. Sophie Holmes (GA for Convent) displayed outstanding court awareness and her accurate shooting earned her POM award. At the other end of the court, it was the experienced leadership of St Clement's GS Zoe Hotton (POM) that was helping her team to stay in contention. However, Convent's solid team work was too strong for their opponents and the final score line of 85-46 (131 goals in 60 minutes play) showed what an intense game this had been.
St Lawrence B 30 (POM Tara Parker GS) v Convent B 47 (POM Alex Perry GA)
Convent B were taken by surprise in the first session of this game as St Lawrence B (sitting in the relegation spot) showed a real fighting spirit and determined approach right from the opening whistle, holding third placed Convent B to the narrowest of leads 9-7. The court play was very evenly matched and both sides were producing unforced errors, resulting in the ball being repeatedly turned over in the centre third, keeping the scoring to minimal 20-14 at the half time break. Convent's fitness proved to be their forte in the second half of this match and slowly, but surely they pulled away from their opponents. Final score 47-30. Once again it was the shooters who earned the POM awards.
Accies A 28 (POM Bali Eden C) v Convent C 38 (POM Sophie Harvey GA)
Mid-table clash between these two sides produced an intense hour of competitive Netball. Both sides eager to hold onto their position in the top flight league table. The cool, calm and collected shooting of Convent's GA Sophie Harvey proved to be downfall for Accies A. Sophie has had an amazing season, notching up an astounding 10 POM awards, all so well deserved. Both teams were evenly matched on the open court play, however Bali Eden (Accies Centre and POM) seemed to be able to pull from a never ending source of energy, continually finding space to help her team bring the ball down the court.
Although Accies did not succeed to notch up the 5 vital points for a win, they are still sitting above Convent C in the table, thanks to their goal difference and they also have a game in hand.

St John 19 (POM Kerry Roche C) v Accies D 35 (POM Natasha Searson GK)
St John showed that they are really starting to gel as a team as they took the league leaders by surprise in holding them to just a 5-6 score line after the first 15 minutes. The second quarter still produced a very low scoring result for Accies, who have been really been netting the goals this season. St John scored 4 to Accies 8. Although this young Accies team were managing to keep ahead of their opponents, St John were always looking threatening. Kerry Roche C for St John used her experience on the court to make numerous turn overs, so achieving the POM award, whilst Natasha Searson was recognised for her superb defending skills in Final score of 35-19.
St Ouen B 24 (POM Lauren Harper GD) v St Clement F 30 (POM Eleanor Moore GA)
St Clement F notched up their first win of the season. These youngsters are showing that they are getting to grips with what is required to succeed in the senior section of the Winter league, as this is their first season experiencing 'adult' netball. St Ouen GD POM Lauren Harper did her best to stem the flow of goals from St Clement POM Eleanor Moore GA, but St Clement could sense that their first victory was within their grasp and they were not going to miss out.
