Our biggest Success Story
Serena Kersten MBEJersey Netball’s biggest success story is undeniably that of Islander and international netballer, Serena Kersten MBE. The former England Roses captain who amassed an impressive 110 caps, debuted for her country against Malawi in 2008, when she had just turned 18.
Regarded as one of the game’s greatest mid-court players, Serena has competed in three Netball World Cups and two Commonwealth games. She has also competed in the Australian Suncorp Super Netball League, renowned as the pinnacle of competitive league netball.
Since retiring from the sport in 2022, we are privileged to have Serena supporting Jersey Netball as Performance Lead. In this central role, Serena’s focus is to offer equal opportunity for all players, coaches and umpires and create a space where everybody can learn. From grassroots to high-performance pathways, Serena is passionate about unifying netball on the island and providing world-class coaching and mentorship to the organisation.
